Kroger Neighborhood Rewards Program helping to raise money for The Thank You Foundation

CINCINNATI - February 13th, 2008 - People who shop at Kroger's already know about the great selections and savings, now there is an added bonus. When you use a Thank You Foundation Kroger Gift Card to pay for purchases, you will be supporting the Troops and our Veterans. When you use a Kroger Gift Card supplied at no cost by The Thank You Foundation Kroger will donate 4% of all purchases made with the card back to the Foundation. "This is an excellent way for people to help support our 'Mission of Appreciation' without having to make a separate donation." said Foundation President John Guinn. "With the current state of the economy people may be hard pressed to make additional contributions. By loading the gift card and using it as you would a credit or debit card you may be able to better manage your money and be giving something back to those who have given so much for our freedom. The only catch is you have to get the cards from the Foundation" Guinn added. How the Program Works1. Obtain a Kroger Gift Card by contacting The Thank You Foundation. 2. Take the card to Kroger or any Kroger owned store and load it with a cash value of anything between $10 - $250 before making a purchase. 3. Use the card for purchases just like a debit or credit card. 4. When it is empty, simply reload it. The cards may be used at any Kroger or Kroger owned store throughout the country for any purchase such as groceries, gas, and prescriptions. The Foundation has already distributed over 300 cards and hopes to have 5000 in circulation by the end of 2008. All funds generated by using Good Search will go to support programs offered by the Foundation. In late 2007 the Foundation announced plans to build a Mobile Health Unit to be donated to the Cincinnati VA and in 2008 has begun focusing efforts on health care, transitional, education and employment services for both active duty and retired members of the U.S. Armed Forces. |
