The Thank You Foundation helps welcome home Iraq War Veteran

Nathan Hupman receives hugs and tickets to Reds game

CINCINNATI Saturday, April 21st, 2007 - The Thank You Foundation and members of a military support group headed by Nancy Arnold welcomed home Cpl. Nathan Hupman of the 2/3 H&S Co. (Island Warriors) from his second tour in Iraq today at the Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport.

Cpl. Hupman was greeted with a big hug from his father David who had not seen his son since he deployed in September of 2006. Nathan's mother Glorya welcomed her son when the unit returned to Hawaii on April 11th.

Foundation President John Guinn presented Cpl. Hupman with a Certificate of Appreciation from the foundation and tickets to Sunday's Reds game against the Phillies as part of its "Tickets for Troops" program.

Cpl. Hupman is a 2004 graduate of Waynesville High School. He graduated high school on June 6th and left for boot camp on June 8th. His first deployment was from May 2005 to January 2006 in Afghanistan where his unit was responsible for security during the first ever election where women were able to vote.

Cpl. Hupman volunteered for both deployments and is planning on volunteering for his 3rd deployment this fall and re-enlisting.

Rick Smith, Secretary and Treasurer of The Thank You Foundation was also on hand. This was our first "Welcome Home" activity at the airport and it was a great honor for us to meet and thank this exceptional young man said Smith.
