Mayor Brewer proclaims May 1 through June 14, 2007 as a special time for Lebanon citizens to show appreciation for U.S. military personnel

LEBANON, Ohio - May 10, 2007 - In recognition of National Military Appreciation Month Mayor Amy Brewer, in conjunction with The Thank You Foundation, has issued a proclamation to encourage Lebanon citizens to say thank you to military veterans and active duty personnel. In a ceremony on May 8, 2007, the mayor proclaimed May 1 through June 14, 2007 as a special time in her city to recognize the efforts of members of the U.S. military, past and present. In addition to the proclamation, the Mayor and the president and founder of The Thank You Foundation, John Guinn, presented a Foundation Certificate of Appreciation to a the following military veterans:
"When you consider the sacrifices made by the 26 million plus Veterans in this country, all of us should be willing to take a moment to stop and thank them for their service," said Guinn. "It doesn't take much to shake someone's hand, express gratitude, and let them know they are appreciated, regardless of one's view on war. While we thanked four veterans from Lebanon tonight, our goal is to let every veteran and active duty military person across the country know that their efforts do not go unnoticed by their communities and their country."
