By JAMES GUINN CINCINNATI -- The Thank You Foundation, along with Gold Star Chili, held a special “Military Appreciation” Kid’s Night on June 26, 2007 where children, ages 10 and under, came out to write encouraging messages on special “Thank You” cards provided by The Thank You Foundation. Over 1000 cards will be sent to men and women from the Greater Cincinnati area serving in the Middle East. “This was truly a great event,” John Guinn, Founder and President of The Thank You Foundation said. “Everyone who came out was more than willing to participate and the kids really wrote some sweet and kind things.” Guinn added, “It is extremely important that the youth of our nation understand the sacrifices made by the men and women who are serving in the military along with what previous generations and veterans did to ensure our freedom. Gold Star Chili has been really supportive of our efforts and we continue to enjoy a wonderful relationship with them and appreciate all that they do for our troops.” Gold Star has an ongoing program called “Serving Our Troops” which provides free welcome home dinners for soldiers returning to Cincinnati after serving abroad. More than 90 Gold Star locations took part in the special “Kid’s Night” while Q-102 FM covered the event live at the Arbor Square Gold Star Chili located in Mason, OH. John Sullivan, chief executive officer of Gold Star Chili said, “Gold Star Chili is proud to support our troops and an organization like The Thank You Foundation. These programs help demonstrate our appreciation for the service of our military personnel.” |
