MIDDLETOWN OH - July 20-22, 2007 - Hot air balloons, sky-divers, and great music filled the air at the 4th Annual Mid First Ohio Challenge in Middletown Ohio over the weekend. An estimated 73,000 people attended the 3 day event. The Thank You Foundation/ Team Fatrax "Thank You" Tour made a stop at this year's festival and Country Music Recording Artist Daniel Smith performed Saturday afternoon. The crowd applauded and pride burst all over as Smith sang "Thank You - A Tribute to an American Soldier while Team Fastrax unfurled a 7500 sq ft American Flag. The Thank You Foundation set out with a goal to get 5000 thank you cards signed by attendees of the festival. The Thank You Foundation President and Founder John Guinn said, "while we fell far short of our goal we met lots of great people to include several Veterans and Active Duty personnel" Also on Saturday, soldiers from the 324th Military Police Company were awarded Certificates of Appreciation along with former US Army Ranger Gene Newsom and Viet Nam Veteran Sam Arnold. Soldiers honored from the 324th included In addition Deborah Nichols, a National Officer of the Blue Star Mothers of America awarded Daniel Smith and John Guinn with Blue Star Mother Challenge Coins for their work with Veterans and Service Members. |
