The Thank You Foundation & Patriot Guard Honor Residents of Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN OH August 18 2007 - The Thank You Foundation along with members of the Patriot Guard Riders visited the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown Ohio. As part of the visit each resident of the Veterans Home was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation and a Thank You card from The Thank You Foundation for their military service.

In addition The Thank You Foundation made a donation of items including paper plates, laundry soap, books, and other items to be used at the facility.

Patriot Guard members split into groups and visited each wing of the facility stopping in each room to talk with residents and hand out cards and certificates. Some resident's event got personal tours of the PGR bikes. Most of the residents at the home are Veterans of World War II and Korea. One gentleman was present at Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941.

George Kinney, Georgetown Deputy Superintendent said "The residents thoroughly enjoyed meeting new friends, seeing the motorcycles, and appreciated their certificates of service. Kinney added, "The donation of paper products and laundry supplies from the Foundation was also very appreciated. As a Veteran it is heart warming to know we are not forgotten."

John Guinn President and Founder of the thank You Foundation stated, "I thoroughly enjoyed talking to each and every one of the Veterans that I was able to visit with. I could have stayed all day and listened to their stories. There is so much history here among this group and it was an honor to meet them.

Just over 120 certificates were presented to the Veterans on Saturday.

Patriot Guard Rider Jimmy Kay stated, "The ride to the Veterans Home with the PGR was an honor for my wife Pat & me. It is always a pleasure to be able to thank those who gave us our freedom, young or old."
