CINCINNATI - September 26, 2007 - Cincinnati Bengals quarterbacks coach, Ken Zampese continues to support local veterans who have returned home from Iraq and Afghanistan by giving the Cincinnati VA medical center four (4) tickets for the 10 Bengals home games again this year. The Thank You Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to honoring veterans and active duty service members, will work to provide the tickets to Veterans through its "Tickets for Troops" program. The donation from Coach Zampese also includes limousine transportation from A Bee Limousine and a post game meal at Behle Street Café in Covington, Kentucky for each of the 10 home games. In addition each recipient will receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the Foundation. Coach Zampese started the donation three years ago after visiting the Cincinnati VA medical center with other coaches and players during a salute to hospitalized veterans visit to the medical center. Coach Zampese's donation to the Cincinnati VA medical center is coordinated through Todd Sledge, public affairs officer for the Cincinnati VA medical center. Mr. Sledge coordinates outreach efforts for the medical center Operation Enduring Freedom & Operation Iraqi Freedom clinic, and the residential Post Traumatic Stress Disorder program. Mr. Sledge contacts with local returning veterans and local national guard and reserve units provides him with an approach mechanism to offer coach Zampese's donation. The Thank You Foundation has worked with Mr. Sledge on several projects to include a visit to the Ft. Thomas Nursing Home/Domiciliary in early September in which The Thank You Foundation coordinated a visit by World Wrestling Entertainment's ECW® Champion CM Punk and former Bengal Jim Breech. In addition The Thank You Foundation has sent several Veterans and their families to events across the country to include Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves baseball and University of Maryland football. This past weekend the Foundation arranged for a wounded soldier from Walter Reed to attend the Washington Redskins New York Giants Game in Washington. John Guinn, President and Founder of The Thank You Foundation said, "We are so very happy to be able to work with Todd to help get these tickets to our local heroes. It is always an honor to be able to say Thank You to those who have given so much for our freedom." Guinn added, "The donation by Mr. Zampese is very generous and should be a shining example for others to follow. We are very fortunate to have people like him in the Cincinnati Community." |
